Williston’s Entertainment Inc! Holds Auditions for Mousetrap, Today and Tomorrow

Williston's Entertainment Inc has announced their 2023-2024 Season. Performances take place at The Old Armory, downtown Williston.

Auditions for the first show of the season, The Mousetrap, will be held on Monday, August 28 and Tuesday, August 29 at 7:00pm at the Old Armory. Parts are available for all ages 18+. If you are unable to attend scheduled auditions, please contact Entertainment, Inc! to arrange an alternate audition time. Call 701.577.3179.

Here's what's on schedule for the upcoming season:

October 12-15, 2023-The Mousetrap by Agatha Christie. Directed by Sarah Favorite. The Mousetrap is the world's longest running play, celebrating 70 years on London's West End. Agatha Christie keeps you on the edge of your seat while attempting to identify the murderer amongst strangers stranded during a blizzard.

November 30 and December 1-3, 2023- A Christmas Carol by Patrick Barlow. Directed by Jim Ryen. Patrick Barlow's take on this Christmas classic uses five actors to bring your favorite characters to life. Join Tiny Tim, Bob Cratchit, and of course, Ebenezer Scrooge as they celebrate the spirit of Christmas.

February 8-11, 2024-Escape to Margaritaville by Greg Garcia and Mike O'Malley with music of Jimmy Buffet. Directed by Renae Rike-Fee and Jim Ryen. Join the cast on an island adventure featuring the Jimmy Buffet songs you know and love, including It's 5 O'clock Somewhere, Cheeseburger in Paradise, and Margaritaville. Feel the magic of living life on island time.

April 11-14, 2024-God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza, translated by Christopher Hampton. Directed by JC LaBar. Two sets of Brooklyn parents come together to resolve a playground fight between their two boys. As the evening progresses, the gloves come off and a meeting that started with niceties takes a turn for the worst.

ACT ON STAGE!
There are many large and small parts available! Simply check the Auditions Page for audition dates or call 701-577-3179.

WORK BACKSTAGE!
Much work is required behind the scenes of a production to make it a success. Help with costume changes, set changes, props, etc. Be a part of it all!

CONSTRUCT SETS!
Constructing sets requires many skills such as skills in carpentry and painting. If you enjoy creating things on a grand scale, you should definitely get involved in set construction!

RUN SOUND AND/OR LIGHTS!
Most productions require sound effects and special lighting arrangements. Sound and lights help create a setting. This can be a challenging, yet very enjoyable aspect to the theatre!

CREATE COSTUMES!
Some productions require historically accurate costumes. Others may require costumes which are much more fantastic. Each production provides a new and exciting challenge to anyone in charge of creating costumes.

DO STAGE MAKE-UP!
Like costuming, make-up can be a very creative yet challenging aspect to a production. Some actors who are portraying ordinary people may only require minimal make-up for their part whereas others who may be playing a monster may require something far more elaborate. If you think it would be fun to take an actor in their twenties and age them 60 years then this may be right up your alley!

BECOME A BOARD MEMBER
Board members run the organization, make the big decisions, and are leaders on committees. Each Board member has a 3 year term and are nominated by other members, community, Board members, and even a self nomination. To learn more, speak with current Board members and attend the annual meetings.

THERE ARE MANY OTHER WAYS TO GET INVOLVED!
If there is nothing from the above list that interests you, don’t give up just yet! They need help with everything from ticket sales to ushering!

Funding for Entertainment, Inc! is provided by grants on the local and state level, donations, patron and season ticket drives, admission revenue, contracted services, costume and equipment rental, technical services, concessions, and fund-raising events such as bake sales, rummage sales, and dinner theatre catering. We are always exploring additional sources of funding.

As one can imagine, creating a season of four productions is an expensive venture. In addition to theatre production, other expenses include space rental, insurance, marketing, office supplies, telephone, internet, web services, and salaries for office personnel and contracted services.

100% of donations given are spent on improving and upgrading the theatre space, in turn enhancing your theatre going experience. Supporting the arts through a donation to Entertainment, Inc! is tax-deductible.
