As the tinsel twinkles and the mistletoe beckons, let's raise our glasses (and maybe some aspirin too) to a season filled with laughter, camaraderie, and perhaps a little too much cheer.

'Tis the season for some serious sipping, and boy, do Americans know how to celebrate!

According to a recent survey, the average Joe or Jane is gearing up to down six cups of spiked eggnog. Yep, you heard that right – a staggering 1.2 billion 'nogs nationwide!

North Dakotans are expected to drink 3,319,877 eggnogs this festive period. Montanans, 2,434,918 eggnogs. Vermont? Oh, they're in a league of their own, guzzling down a whopping 19 cups per person. Talk about eggnog Olympics!

But it's not just about the quantity; it's also about timing. Apparently, the green light to start festivities is 2:42 p.m. Yet, a daring 18% admit to kicking off the holiday cheer before noon! Now that's what we call a spirited commitment!

North Dakota takes the crown for the drunkest state, with an average of 8 alcoholic drinks per person every day during the festive season. Looks like we've mastered spreading cheer as well as dealing with frostbite!

Now, let's talk about the morning after. Hangovers, anyone? Mornings after certain holidays are infamous for hangovers, with January 1st taking the trophy for the ultimate hangover day. New Year, new you, right? More like, new year, same old hangover!

Whether you're sipping eggnog, toasting in Vermont, or joining the North Dakotan fiesta, may your cups runneth over with holiday spirit and your hangovers stay as rare as a unicorn.

Here's to a holly, jolly, and slightly tipsy holiday season! Cheers, friends!
