The James Memorial Art Center in Williston is offering Art History Camp.
Kids learn about famous artists and then create a one of a kind masterpiece using the style and technique of the artist. A new project and artist each week.

The Art History Camp will be held Tuesdays from 4:00pm - 5:00pm beginning March 7th. It's open for youth in grades K-6. Class dates are March 7, 21, 28 and April 4th. No class the week of Spring Break.

March 7 the featured artist is Marc Chagall. Learn about artist Marc Chagall through stories and video, then create fantastic villages and oil pastels in his style.

March 21 the featured artist is Henri Matisse. Learn about artist Henri Matisse through stories and video, then create bright compositions using abstract shapes cut from paper.

March 28 the featured artist is Pablo Picasso. Learn about artist Pablo Picasso through stories and videos, then create cubist portraits with cutout cardboard shapes.

April 4 the features artist is Georgia O'Keefe. Learn about artist Georgia O'Keefe through stories and video, then create beautiful "macro" poppy paintings on canvas.

The cost of Art History Camp is $80 for non-members and $75 for members of the James. Cost includes all classes and supplies. Must attend all classes. Spots are limited and pre-registration is required. Sign up today at www.thejamesmemorial.org
