The weather has been hot, and if you've been thirsty, be sure to check out a program on Saturday, July 23rd.

Lots of kids looking for summer fun (and money) will be selling lemonade for Williston's
8th annual Lemonade Day.

Hosted by the Williston Chamber of Commerce, Lemonade Day is a fun program that teaches youth about running their own business. The Williston Chamber provides the resources for awesome day, but the kids get to be the boss. The kids go out into the community and get sponsors and investors. The kids come up with an original theme, lemonade recipe and eye-catching lemonade stand.  And after repaying investors they can keep what they earn. They are taught to spend some, save some and share some by giving back to their community.

The day can have a quite an impact, these young local entrepreneurs learn about business, while at the same time they gain self-esteem and life skills critical for future success. The purpose of Lemonade Day is to build young entrepreneurs and teach them how to be productive members of society.

There was a Best Tasting Contest on Tuesday, July 12th at the Williston Community Library.  The winners, Caydin and Cullen Hughes, won a certificate and will have it on display at their stand, Golden Rule-Ade, on Lemonade Day. The lemonade stands will be located all over Williston.

From 3:30-7:00pm there will be a celebration at Davidson Park. There will be a BBQ, games, prizes and awards at 5pm, including the award for Best Looking Stand. This is a free event, and all families are welcome.
