Did You Know About These New Towns In North Dakota?

Part of what we do on a daily basis is come up with things you may or may not know. It's fun to bring this stuff on the radio, so you can talk about it around the water cooler. A few weeks back, I introduced you to the oldest town in North Dakota. Based on the research I found, Pembina is the oldest town in the state. You read all about that here.

So, since we covered the oldest town in the state, it's only fitting to talk about the little brothers and sisters that have popped up along the way. Here is an overview of the youngest, or newest towns in North Dakota.

#6A Briarwood, North Dakota

Established in 1973.  2020 census data shows a population of 57 people.  Briarwood is a suburb of Fargo. 

#6B North River, North Dakota

Established in 1973.  2020 census data shows a population of 55 people.  North River is a suburb of Fargo. 

#4 Prairie Rose, North Dakota

Established in 1975.  2020 census data shows a population of 56 people. 

#2A Reile's Acres, North Dakota  

Established in 1977.  2020 census data shows a population of 703 people. Reile's Acres is a suburb of Fargo. 

#2B Lincoln, North Dakota 

Established in 1977.  2020 census data shows a population of 4,257 people. Lincoln is a suburb of Bismarck and is located southeast of the capital city. 

#1  Oxbow, North Dakota. 

Established in 1988.  2020 census data shows a population of 381 people.  Oxbow is a suburb of Fargo and is the latest town established in North Dakota.
